Name: Devan Dubnyk
DOB: May 4, 1986

You hear a soft knock on the door. Even though you yell "COME IN," he only
steps in and waits patiently in the entryway. Being the nice little Canadian
boy he is, he took his shoes off and set them to the side of the door. You, on
the other hand, are still running around your bedroom half-dressed, because
you couldn't decide what to wear. Devan wouldn't tell you where he is taking
you this morning. All he told you is that you will need a jacket.
You finally settled on a pair of jeans, a red trench coat, and a pair of expensive
black boots. Quickly, you grab your sparkly, silver scarf and its matching
headband. As you spritz on the last spray of perfume, you run out into the
hallway to find Devan calmly waiting for you. He holds out a single pink rose
to you, which you immediately take and put in a nearby vase. He compliments your decorating skills,
but you tell him that your mother did it for you while you were on a weekend vacation with your best friend.
Once he leads you outside, you look for his car that's not there. He practically drags you across the street,
but you're having fun...until the heel on your left boot breaks off. Suddenly, you are laying on your back
on the sidewalk, but you are still laughing. Devan just lifts you up and decides to carry you the rest of the
way, which happens to be about five feet. Then, he opens a gate.
As you two walk alongside the creek, Devan repeatedly tries to make conversation. When he asks a question
that you don't have the answer to, you look over at him to see him blush. He smiles nervously, but doesn't make
conversation again. Instead, he reaches for your shoulders, pulls you close, leans down, and kisses you.
You don't know what to say, so you simply kiss him back. You close your eyes because the squirrel that seems
to be stalking you is very distracting. Now that you realize it, this boy is distracting. After ten lingering seconds,
he stops to tell you how pretty you are. His voice gives you chills. He sees you shivering and gives you his jacket.
You hand it back, but he eyes you suspiciously as you continue to shiver.
Without asking, Devan grabs your wrist and turns you around. He walks swiftly back toward the street. It's a bit
hard keeping up with him because the heel of your left boot is gone. Then, he slows down, realizing that it
became hard for you to keep up. He apologizes and places his arm around your shoulder.
As you return home, you stop on your front doorstep. "Sorry," he hinted, "this didn't go quite as I
planned." You look up into his beautiful brown eyes, and you immediately knew that he really meant it, so
you decided to give him another chance.
"Do you want to come inside?" You ask.
"Do you want me to come in?"
What do you think? Was it a good date? Would you bring him in?
Let us know!
