Hockey Syrup

There's this great site called Hockey Syrup. I absolutely love it. The cartoons with Kaner and Tazer are so funny. They totally knock my socks off. Here are the first two cartoons that were posted, and they may just be my favourites. The words on the first picture are small, so the first comment has the words listed.

6/16/10: [I know, I know] Patrick Kane

(image found on Google)
I know I am supposed to wait until Friday to write about any of the players on the poll, but I will anyway. (If you guys vote for him, I will do a second date with him, k?) I am writing about something/someone I shouldn't be writing about. I am bad. So bad that my grandma called me Miss Conduct today. Baaaaddddd.... k, here it is:

Name: Patrick Kane
DOB: November 19, 1988
Current NHL Team: Chicago Blackhawks

You are in Patrick's hometown of Buffalo, New York. You're not quite sure how you got there though. One day you met Patrick, and here you are a week later in New York in the middle of summer. The humidity has got to you already; the walk from your hotel to Patrick's house was pretty lengthy. Before you arrived in Buffalo, Patrick told you that he knew a really great college baseball team and that he would love to take you to a game, although when he finally answers the door, he comes clean. Within ten seconds, he explains that he couldn't get tickets because they were sold out, but he promised to take you to a baseball game. Confused, you follow him to the local park.
When you find him again, he's sitting in a patch of tall grass in the outfield of a baseball diamond. You unconfidently take a seat beside him. He glances at his watch and looks over at you. You stare back, not knowing what to expect. For a minute or two, you and Patrick stare at each other until it gets awkward. Then he jumps up and holds out his hand. As you take it, he leads the way to the pitcher's mound.
"I seriously thought there was a game today. Since we can't see baseball, we'll just play it." He shrugs and pulls out two baseball gloves and a baseball. You obediently begin to toss and hit the baseball back and forth, but you can't help but think that this isn't what you planned on doing. Thank God he noticed.
"What? You're not smiling. What is it?" You can't decide if he really means it or not. "You don't like baseball, do you?"
"Not really, sorry." He just stares at you. "What?"
He doesn't give an answer. Immediately, your face is in his hands and your lips are pressed aggressively against his. For that moment, you forget everything except that you are here kissing Patrick Kane. As he slowly and unsurely lets go, he waits for your response. You know what you're going to say, and you're not afraid to say it.

What would you say? Do you forget about everything that happens, or will you keep everything in mind?

6/13/10: Jonathan Toews

(image found on Google)
Okay, just so we can get this thing started here, I will do another. Instead of doing it weekly, I will do at least one every week, but, for the most part, I will do them when I feel like it. I am going to have way too much fun with this one. With all that said, here we go:

Name: Jonathan Toews
DOB: April 29, 1988
Current NHL team: Chicago Blackhawks
It is a hot summer day in your small hometown. You and your best friend, Trina, have just picked up an ice cream at the local dairy. Originally, you two were going to go to the tennis park, but it is over a hundred degrees outside. You decide to stroll around downtown instead.
While you two are sitting on a bench next to the drizzling creek, an elderly couple and a man in his early twenties approach you. As he asks you to take their picture by the creek, the young man sees your "Chicago Blackhawks: Stanley Cup Champions" shirt that you are wearing, even though you are a long way from the Windy City. He smiles and, as you look from the camera to him, you immediatley know who he is. So does Trina, although she is not a huge Blackhawks fan like you. Your eyes widen in shock, and Trina instinctually drags you away.
"Can you believe it? Jonathan Toews!!" you whisper. You best friend reminds you to breathe. Slowly, you turn back to Jonathan and his grandparents. After snapping a couple pictures, Mrs. Antoinette Toews, Jonathan's grandmother, asks if you and Trina would give them a tour of your fabulous hometown. You are in shock but Trina says yes for you.
You bring them everywhere. You take them to the dairy do they could get ice cream, you visit over a dozen of your favorite shops, and you even take pictures with the many statues that are currently being displayed downtown. Finally, you lead them to the park where the bandstand is. While you are sitting down on a local picnic table, Jonathan dares you to go up on the bandstand and sing. You're not chicken, so you go up there, have fun, and try your best. Just to humor Jonny, you sing O Canada, which you just had to learn, since hockey originated in Canada. He expects that you know the French version, too, so he gives you a really bad time about it when you tell him you don't. You know that it's all in fun, though.
Just when you think the day might actually come to an end, Jonny's grandpa, Stephan Toews, blankly asks if you're Jonathan's girlfriend. You turn to Jonathan to let him answer.

(No, I don't really know the names of his grandparents, I made them up)

So, what do you think? What do you think Jonny will say? What do you want him to say?
